Thank all of you for giving me the opportunity to feed these children and show them that Gods people do care, you all make this mission a blessing to so many, what better way to get out

Hi Cleda,

I want to thank you so much for allowing us to help in your mission.

I had visited you back on Oct. 26th when you were gracious enough to show us around your

store as well as letting us help to get the bags ready for the Back Pack Program.   It moved

me very much both in gaining the knowledge that there is such poverty so close  to home and

also meeting such a generous giving person as yourself who cares so deeply.

Back in the early 80's, my first husband got very sick and could not work.  Even though I was

employed, with 6 children and medical bills piling up I could not have survived on my own.

Our Church members were my salvation with their generous hearts.  The food pantry staff

delivered food and some congregation members would write me a check every now and then

just when utility bills came due.   God provided through my friends.

When this December trip was planned, the Lord spoke to me and wanted me to do more.

Upon arrival, you will  see the Merry Christmas bags which we packed with a Pudding Cup,

a small can of fruit, a bag of Animal Cookies, a fruit pack, crackers and a few pieces of candy.

This was a wonderful family project.   My daughter, Debbie, came over after work to help and

wrote on all the bags "Merry Christmas".   My son, Pete, came by with his 3 newly adopted

children, Shawntay, age 9, P.J., age 8, and Tony, age 7, and pitched in to help as well.

It was a learning experience for them to find out that some children did not have food even

though they did not orriginally come from the happiest of households themselves.

They did help as well putting the bags together although they enjoyed being able to take some

of the leftovers too.  After all, I would not be a very good Grandma without giving treats.

Thank you Cleda for sharing your life with us and thank you for being you.

May God bless you with a beautiful and blessed Christmas.
